AVTEK and Electrical

 From 1974-1991 Gerry Gaines was a Musician playing locally in the Bakersfield Area in Bands such as Bittersweet Band, Springtime Band, and Gaines, Peay and Johnson Band just to name a few.  When DJs started taking over and replacing live musicians, work became hard to find...so Gaines started a Services Business and finding out he didn't know how to do everything i.e. changing out window screens, laying cement, remodeling bathrooms...it became a nightmare.

 

With the suggestion of specializing in something you are more familiar he settled on Wiring.  It was Brad Urner of Urner's who gave him a chance.  After gaining experience (attics) and obtaining a contractor's license...Soundtek Audio was born.  In 2000, Soundtek Audio opened up a Home Theater Store on District Blvd.

 

In 2004 Soundtek Audio changed it's name to AVtek and Electrical.  Flash forward to present...AVtek survived through 2008.  When the economy crashed he was forced to work for someone else.  Now, today, 2015 AVtek is alive and well and ready for business.

 

He has done work for Fruggatti's, South Kern Machinery, Rusty's Pizza, Bakersfield Dialysis Center, HealthSouth, St. Joseph's Church, St. Clair Development, to name a few.
